About Statura

Fast, transparent fitness & health calculators — backed by real formulas, not guesses.

Our mission

Statura exists to make fitness and health numbers genuinely useful — transparent, fast, and honest. Most calculator sites dump a number into a dense table and bury the formula. We show our work: every calculator cites its formula, includes a fully worked example you can verify, and states its limitations plainly.

How our calculators are built

Every calculator on Statura is built from an established, published clinical or scientific formula. We do not invent formulas or copy competitor pages — the math is public reference material from sources like the NIH, WHO, ACOG, ACSM, and peer-reviewed literature.

  • BMI uses the WHO adult categories and formula.
  • BMR defaults to Mifflin-St Jeor, with Harris-Benedict and Katch-McArdle available.
  • Body fat uses the U.S. Navy tape-measurement method.
  • Pregnancy due dates use Naegele's rule and IOM weight-gain guidelines.
  • Calorie burn uses the standard MET formula and the Compendium of Physical Activities.

All calculation logic runs as pure TypeScript functions in your browser — nothing about a calculation ever needs a network round-trip.

How content is reviewed

Every calculator and article carries a "reviewed for accuracy on" date. When a formula or piece of guidance is updated, that date is refreshed in one place per page. Our editorial policy page details sourcing and methodology in full.
